Non-Profit Social Media Post
This was my first project for E1T1. The assignment was to create a social media post advertising an event for a non-profit. I chose Bikes Not Bombs, an organization that collects old bicycles and bicycle parts, refurbishes them, and distributes the new bikes to economic development projects overseas, as well as teens in Bikes Not Bombs' Youth Program.

Interview
We did practice interviews over Zoom. Each of us took turns asking the other five questions while recording the video.

Collage
The assignment was to create a collage of what we're hoping to learn and have learned in E1T1. I chose the Python and JavaScript logos because I want to improve my skills with those languages. I chose the phone for app design and the computer for web design. The social media icons and video camera are from learning about cinematography and how to make informative social media posts. I'm hoping to learn more career skills, such as how to make a good resume, how to have a good interview, how to communicate, and how to network. I also added the logo of the nonprofit I've been working with. And last but not least, the cat because it's always good to have more practice trying to work around cats.

ABOUT ME

Dinosaur Scratch Game
I remixed a dinosaur dance party game made with Glitch. The assignment was to make ten changes. Some of my changes include the addition of the bat in the top corner and adding the water at the bottom of the screen.

Poem Video
The assignment was to create a video using iMovie with a favorite poem or nursery rhyme and add clips of things that fit the theme of the poem. For this project, I chose the poem "Water" by Nikita Gill.

InVision Wireframe
I created a wireframe for a social media website using the UI platform InVision. On my fictional social media site, users can like, comment on, save, send, and report posts. The posts are displayed with photos to the left and text to the right with reactions underneath. Users can also use navigate the site using the icons on the bottom or left of the page. Options include return to home, search, create a post, settings, and view/edit profile. The web browser layout also includes a section for site news and current events located on the homepage.

Scratch Game: Fishy!
Here's a game I created using MIT's Scratch program. To play, use the left and right arrow keys to move back and forth and the up arrow to jump. The goal is to catch as many fish as you can to grow.

Social Media Advertisements
I made three faux social media ads: one for a restaurant (Chipotle), one for a clothing brand (Forever 21), and one for E1T1.

Reflection
I'm glad I joined E1T1 because it gave me some new skill and some structure to my summer. I learned multiple skills that will be helpful in my future career. I wasn't expecting to have lessons, so that was a nice surprise. I don't think I'll apply next summer, as now I have the skills for bigger things. I hope I can get an internship in Cambridge and have an opportunity to use these skills. My main focus career-wise is pharmacology and bio-engineering, but I think what I've learned about computer science in this program will still come in handy.
