Internship Program E1T1 provides free 4-6 week internship programs in online teams learning photography, making videos, social media optimization, fitness, website development, mobile app development, html, css and python coding, and more. No previous skills or experience required. Interns learn to create their own websites, including professional photography and video portfolios, and from there, move to to creating professional client websites. Interns to work with supervisors to provide services to clients, building websites and provide technology and IT administration services. Clients include nonprofits which otherwise could not afford new websites and other technology support services. Interns build mobile apps related to their interests, and create their own online business. We collaborate with programs to provide opportunities to learn to build and repair bikes and earn a bike free. We incorporate mind/body balance and fitness into the program. E1T1 program goals include providing job-seeking skills. E1T1 programs can also serve as a young person's first job experience and exposure to the world of work, or an experienced person's first job experience moving to the tech sector or to a position benefitting from tech skills. Participation includes skill-building workshops, and provides the opportunity to attend college tours, financial literacy training, and a variety of program-sponsored social events. A small number of paid internships are available, and a larger number of unpaid Internships.
Hack-a-thons E1T1 works with various partners to provide hack-a-thons, where participants of all ages can form teams, work on a mobile app or other technical project, and win prizes!
Career Development Days E1T1 partners with employers to provide full- and half-day onsite experiences where participants can visit a worksite, meet employees and prospective mentors and guest speakers, and further advance job-seeking skills, networking and training.
Mind and Body E1T1 philosophy encourages self-reliance and mind/body balance. We partner with various organizations offering bike repair training, earn-a-bike opportunities, that together with technology job skills and experience enable full independence and self-reliance. Programs also emphasize fitness, including biking, yoga, and other fitness opportunities.
Interns of all ages The program serves all community members from age 14 up, including high school students, college students, college graduates, graduate students, post-graduates, as well as adult professionals with many years of experience in the job market.
Workforce Development Interns of all ages are placed in public sector, non-profit and private sector jobs for four-six weeks during the summer. They work up to twenty hours a week. Internships include a limited number of paid internships funded by various programs, where interns can earn minimum wage, with the wage paid by the program. One third of the interns are placed in E1T1 Work and Learning sites, which offer participants a valuable educational and employment experience using the community’s resources to expose participants to potential educational or career paths.
